The Greensand Way follows the line of the Greensand ridge from Haslemere in Surrey to Ham Street in Kent. It passes through several Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including Leith Hill, and past the towns of Dorking and Westerham. We will walk the westernmost section of the Greensand Way, starting near the Town Hall in Haslemere. From there we climb gently through heathland to the National Trust visitor centre and cafe by the Devil's Punch Bowl at Hindhead, were we will have a break. Then round the Bowl to Gibbet Hill, which we can enjoy now that the A3 has been put in a tunnel. We descend through woodland to Thursley, then turn east to pass through Brook and Sandhills before rejoining the coach by the railway station at Wormley.
For members wanting to undertake a slightly shorter walk, after depositing the main body of walkers in Haslemere, the coach will convey the others to the Visitor Centre at the Devil's Punch Bowl, where they can await the arrival of the walkers from Haslemere, and join them for the remaining 7.5 miles to Wormley.
